Floyd Mayweather Biography
Born on February 24, 1977, with real name Floyd Joy Sinclair is a former professional boxer from the United States. At present, he is 42 years old.
Mayweather is known to have won 6 World Boxing Championships with five different classes. He is a former WBC middle-class champion, a title abandoned by him because of his retirement. He is also very famous for being a professional boxer who has never been beaten in his career.
Floyd Mayweather Personal Life & Early Career
His father, Floyd Sr, took Mayweather to the gym shortly after he could walk. Sr Floyd picked him up and put him in front of him every time he practiced. At the age of 7, Mayweather had her first boxing glove.
He came to be known as Little Floyrd who soon decided to take his father’s last name to show that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father’s success in the world of professional boxing.
Even so, the family life of Mayweather was not as easy as one might imagine. His life was very hard because his parents were trapped by a pretty heavy case. His father had a very temperamental temperament, Floyd Sr was shot in the leg while carrying his son in 1978. Then in 1993, he was sentenced to prison for allegedly trafficking in drug type of cocaine. Mayweather’s mother, Deborah, is also known to be dealing with the problem of drug abuse.
Unwilling to get caught up in the complicated life of his family, Mayweather found peace when he was in the ring. Mayweather also earned the nickname Pretty Boy early in her career because of her face. With his very fast style, he won the National Gold Glove in 1993, 1994 and 1996.
After his father was released from prison, Mayweather began his professional boxing career. Floyd Sr. was later appointed as Manager and Coach. In 1998, he defeated Genaro Hernandez to win his first World Champion title at the WBC Super Featherweight Championship.
Personal problems with the Mayweather family continued to occur until finally, he fired his father as a manager in 2000. The differences between them strengthened until finally Mayweather also fired his father as a coach and then replaced him with his uncle, Roger Mayweather.
The problem did not stop there, he also went to prison several times over cases of violence and harassment. A judge in Las Vegas sentenced him 90 days later after Mayweather admitted to charges of domestic violence.
Mayweather also had a shocking world after he announced his resignation after defeating Ricky Hatton in late 2007. But he returned to compete in 2009 by winning a great battle against Juan Manuel Marquez. He managed to get the coffers of money of $ 60 million. About 8 months later, he won a match against Shane Mosley in Los Angeles.
