Mavericks’ fans sound alarm on Anthony Davis weight gain

The Dallas Mavericks are starting to prepare for the 2025-26 NBA season. After missing the playoffs last season, Dallas is looking to get back to the playoffs this season and make some noise.

One player who will need to be ready for the 2025-26 season is Anthony Davis. He underwent eye surgery in the offseason and will need to wear goggles for the rest of his career. Despite all of that, is there anything else that this fanbase should be concerned with him about?

Dallas Mavericks Fans Concerned About Anthony Davis Gaining Weight

There is a photo of Davis in a Mavericks practice uniform that shows he has put on weight. Since last year’s training camp with the Los Angeles Lakers, he has gained 15 pounds. Well, maybe there is something in the water in Dallas, Texas?

There were complaints that Luka Doncic was out of shape with the Mavericks and now he is in great shape with the Lakers. Dallas fans are concerned that the 32-year-old power forward maybe out of the shape as the 2025-26 NBA season approaches.

Hopefully when the games begin, Davis doesn’t show that he is out of shape. He has not been on the court much this summer because of the eye surgery. Dallas will need him to be in game shape when they begin the season on October 22 against the San Antonio Spurs.

During the 2024-25 season with the Lakers and the Mavericks, he averaged 24.7 PPG, 11.6 RPG, 3.5 APG, 2.2 BPG, and 1.2 SPG. He also shot 51.6% from the field in 51 games played. Hopefully Davis can stay healthy for a majority of the season. The story for now before the season begins will be about his weight and whether or not he is in game shape.
